Our Policy

Pay When You Sell Advertising

The Carolina Trader is pleased to assist you in selling your items. Use our convenient form included in this web site, call, write or FAX us to tell us what you have to sell. Be sure to include a price for each item and a brief description. We will advertise your item until it is reported sold or it has appeared in four issues. This will give us a fair chance to help you sell your article.

If you sell your article (through any means), cancel your ad, trade or give the article away, or for any other reason make the article unavailable to our readers during the four week period, the item will be considered sold and fee will be due. Your fee is based on the advertised price even if the selling price is different.

When your item sells, notify our office so we can cancel your ad. If you have not sold your article after it has appeared in four issues, we will cancel your ad automatically.

All advertised articles must be priced separately. We cannot refund any payments. If you place an ad but decide to cancel before it appears in the first issue, we must be notified before it appears or the fee will be due. The Carolina Trader reserves the right to select, edit, or condense any ads and to refuse any ads that are contrary to its policies. We are not responsible for the condition of, or misrepresentation of advertised articles, or for composition errors.

Only your phone number will appear in your ad unless you request otherwise. The Carolina Trader will not disclose your name or address except for law enforcement and courts.

Pay When You Sell Rates

10% of the first $100 of the advertised price.
2% of the amount of the advertised price over $100,
but only to the $25 maximum

Maximum Fee $25.00
Minimum Fee $2.00

Washer advertised for $30
10% of $30 or $3.00

TV advertised for $180
10% of first $100 ($10.00)
2% of remaining $80 ($1.60)
Total is $11.60

Auto advertised for $3200
10% of first $100 ($10)
2% of remaining amount
but only to $25 maximum
Total is $25.00

Pre-Paid Ads
Ads in categories 6000 through 76 must be paid before they can appear. Pre-paid ads cost $3.00 per week for 5 column lines or less, 60 cents for each additional line. Pre-Paid ads will be run only if payment is received with the ad. Pay only for the number of weeks you want the ad to run. We cannot give refunds or credits for cancellations.

The Carolina Trader Incorporated has no affiliates or sister companies. We only own and operate The Carolina Trader in S.C. No one has our permission to use The Carolina Trader to solicit you for any reason including advertising in other media.

The Carolina Trader is made available for your personal, non-commercial use only. The Classified ads listed are for potential buyers only. The material in this publication is the property of The Carolina Trader and is protected by U.S. copyright laws.
